Welcome to Fitness & Yoga with Adele
I’m Adele James and I’m passionate about health and fitness !
Here is a little bit about me …..
I qualified as a Group Exercise Instructor when I was 19 years old and have been working full or part time in the fitness industry ever since [ 20 years now !]
I began working in various fitness clubs in the Midlands, teaching everything from Aerobics, Step, Bums tums & thighs, Circuits , etc, as well as running classes of my own in the villages and smaller towns .
I also worked as a Fitness Assistant at Hereward College alongside the Physiotherapist department with the physically disabled students, teaching Wheelchair Aerobics, as well as personal training programmes including weightlifitng . It was whilst working here that I learnt a lot about ‘adapting ‘ exercises to suit the individual and how to overcome different problems and abilities when prescribing an exercise programme.
Becoming a little disillusioned with the ‘Vanity ‘ of the fitness industry,in 1997 I moved to Phoenix , Arizona , where I got married to my husband Simon, and due to my love of animals I worked as a Volunteer at the ‘Phoenix Zoo’ . [I still worked in a few Gyms whilst there, and took the American Fitness instructor equivalent qualification ].
It was here I discovered a love for Yoga and was lucky to meet my mentor Carol , whom I studied with and learnt a lot from whilst there for 2 and a half years. I moved back to the UK in 2000 and have been teaching Yoga ever since.
I’m a big believer in mixing up your fitness activities and training. No- one should just do ‘one’ thing , ie, just run , or just lift weights.
I find that Yoga is the ultimate compliment to ANY fitness regime as it gives you better self awareness and control, but also, can be tailored to improve flexibility, strength, balance, even cardiovascular fitness.
Yoga really offers something for everyone from Runners, Horse riders, Motorcyclists, Boxers, Dancers as well as those just wanting to feel more comfortable in their own bodies.
I’m also a qualified Kettlebells and Bootcamp/Circuit training instructor and run Circuit’ Training classes for some of my Yoga clients who wanted something with a little more ‘Oomph’ to it !
I love to learn and constantly update my skills and knowledge by attending regular workshops, lectures and seminars throughout the year .
Last year I qualified as a ”Kinetic Chain Assessment Specialist ” with one of the UK’s leading Personal trainers Dax Moy , and I have also just become a certified ‘Budokon Yoga teacher’ , one of only a handful in the UK, and the only one currently in the Leicestershire area.
I am a member of the Fitness Proffessionals , and also the IYN [ Independant Yoga Network].

Freestyle Fitness Yoga Certified Trained with Jayne Nicholls of Group X training
AFAA Aerobics Instructor Certification
Certified Kettlebells instructor , trained by Jon Le Tocq of Storm Force Fitness
Bootcamp/Circuit training instructor trained with Rachel Holmes of Choreography to Go.
Budokon Yoga Teacher trained with Kancho Cameron Shane
